For the nine months ended 30 September 2005, National City Corporation's total interest income rose 31% to $5.73B. Net interest income after loan loss provision rose 14% to $3.46B. Net income fell 13% to $1.59B. Net interest income reflects higher interest earning assets, partially offset by an increase in interest expense. Net income also reflects an increase in personnel expenses.
